Chris Potter just finished up his job in San Fran and has been taking a road trip across the country before he starts his next job in Utah. He made it to CO for a couple days and is staying down in Grand Junction with Mike Riemann. We’ve all been saying that we need to get together and snowboard, since its been nearly to 2 years, so we figured today was the day. They picked me up around 930 and we headed to Copper Mountain. Chris and Mike both had 2 for one passes that we planned to use, heres where the fun began. So we get to the mountain, hop on the bus, get to the ticket window, and wait in line only to find out that the vouchers were not valid on Saturdays. Well, none of us thought the full $96 was worth it, so we decided to leave and go hike somewhere. We hopped back on the bus with same bus driver that dropped us off, confused, he asked us what we’re doing back on the bus. We told him out vouchers were no good and we cant justify a $96 dollar ticket, especially at 11:30. To our surprise he asked if we would be willing to pay $50. I think we all looked at each other in that moment a little confused and a lot excited. He took us for a loop in the bus, parked back at the ticket office, and used his employee discount to get us tickets. Thanks!

We had a blast riding and towards the end of the day found ourselves in the back bowl. We traversed across the bowl with a group of people and ducked a rope, which we didn’t think too much of. Dropped a couple mini cliffs, made some turns and headed back to the lift. About 100 yards from the lift a patroller flagged us down, and clipped our tickets. He was not having a good day and didn’t like people ducking ropes. We were informed that the whole side was closed and we should read the backs of our passes and be smarter about things. A bit out of line with all the people in that area and the fact that the gate wasn’t closed at the top. He must have clipped at least 50 tickets. Well, at least it was at the end of the day, and we were at the top of the mountain, so we made a couple more and headed out. Today was one of the most fun days this season.
