This camping trip was between session 1 & 2, though it just as easily could have been 2 & 3. Anyway we drove down to Mt. Jefferson to check out the area. It was still pretty early in the summer and a lot of roads were closed due to snow so we were limited on where we could go. The first day we went to bagby hot springs. We never did get the chance to go in, they were full of naked men with red butt cheeks (no photos of those, sorry).

Here’s a log we crossed on the way to bagby. It was the best part of the hike (Bryce is crossing the top, I’m crossing the bottom, Gerad and Jake watching and photoin’)

Paul went swimming on the way to the springs in really really cold water. No one else went in.

So we took off and found a pretty nice camp site right near  the hotsprings free of red cheeks and setup our camp. Oh, On the way there Jakes car hit 200k! Jake and I strung our hammocks over the river thinking it would be great to sleep there. I tried, but ended up in the tent after falling out. Luckily, I landed on the shore and not in the water.

Next morning we were hanging out on a log that stuck out about 2oft or so into the river and paul was wondering around in his crocs getting some shots of us. After some knofe throwing and cleanup we headed out for another spot.

We stopped along the way in a forest that looked like it had burnt down at some point. It was growing again, and there was some vegetation on the ground so it looked like it was healthy again.  Pretty good photo op for Alex too!

This was followed by the first destruction of the Can Van, Pauls Honda Odyssey. We were driving along on some old logging roads and he decided to rally it on what he thought was a snow pile. Turned out to be pretty solid. Here’s a video still of the front wheels off the ground.

To end the trip we made it to lake Olallie. It was like lake the lake Timorthy of Mt Jefferson. Pretty cool to go down there and see.

The real end to the trip was the Can Van getting stuck in the snow. While trying to get it out a crazy guy rallied by on a 4 wheeler, bumped into jakes car, popped it in reverse and took off over a 3 foot snowbank, narrowly missing a tree and off down the road. That was fun.

Hike 1 was up the Ramona Falls trail to the River, and then back down the ravaged riverbed.

Hike 2 was with Nick Merk and his new pup Gilligan. We went up the Salmon river train a ways and then found a super secret waterfall in the woods.

Last week Alex and I went to a club in Minneapolis and shot this video with her brother.

I’m not much for going out on St. Paddys day, or for drinking green beer, but this year I did both. The night started with pizza and luckily (from the Irish in me) didn’t end with puking. After the pizza we went down to Eds No Name Bar to see Jim Trouten play some tunes. I made a pit stop at another bar to meet Jordan and happened to get a glass of green baseball beer. Its called baseball because of the handle pull at the tap. I dunno what exactly the beer is, but the bartenders don’t seem to think its funny when you order one and its not very good, and it tastes like green.

Here Jim and Other guy whos name I dont know are playin some tunes. It was a pretty fun night and it was topped off with a shot a Jameson with Jim. Good way to end it before walking back to Jordans to crash on the couch! Glad I didn’t try to walk home…

The last couple days of the shoot went pretty well and we definitely got a lot of shots. We did a few sunset shoots and a lot of lapping the park.
